When I met up with Kaitlin and Allan for their engagement photos at Hanna Park I fell in love with how sweet they were. It barely even seemed like I was with them because they enjoyed each other’s company so much. The photos turned out so romantic, it made me excited for their spring wedding. You can check out their engagement session over HERE.
I knew from talking to Kaitlin that the wedding theme they were going for was romantic and classy with a steel blue color scheme accented with cream, blush and greenery in flowers. They really wanted to play up the natural beauty of their venue but still have fun. In other words, it was a photographers dream!
The wedding day absolutely did not disappoint. Kaitlin was a vision in her off-white A-line dress. It was such a simple, elegant design by Vera Wang and the small bow on the back was so perfect I had to make sure to photograph it.
The wedding took place at St. Joseph’s Historic Catholic Church and, if you have never been inside, it’s gorgeous with old wooden pews and large glass windows to let in beautiful light. Before the ceremony Kaitlin and Allan chose to have a first look in a nearby park and then privately read letters they had written to each other. The look on Allan’s face when he got to see Kaitlin for the first time was priceless and Kaitlin became so emotional as she read her letter from him.
Kaitlin’s grandparents own a classic Chevrolet Bel Air, and used it to drive the bride and groom from the church to the reception in Nocatee's Crosswater Hall. The car was such a beauty and we got some really great photos of the newlyweds in it! After dinner and toasts, Kaitlin changed into her second gown of the evening and it was just as stunning as the first. It was a vintage dress that her grandmother found in a Charleston consignment store, what an amazing find!
From start to finish, Kaitlin and Allan’s wedding was so beautifully done. It was obvious Kaitlin’s vision had come to life. But what was even more obvious was that on their wedding day, they were surrounded by so many people who loved them.
Congratulations Kaitlin and Allan!
