What do you do and where are you located? 

Maris Kirs Photography specializes on photographing portraits and wedding in North Florida. I’m located in Ponte Vedra, Fl and traveling all around Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Amelia Island, Savannah, Jekyll Island, Palm Coast and beyond. 

 

What’s your style? 

I would say it’s bright & vibrant at the same time. Look around in my portfolio and you will find out exactly what I mean. 

 

Do you charge travel expenses? 

Travel expenses for portrait photography within 30 miles of 32081 will be covered with the package fee. Expenses for travel and accommodation for further afield will be added. 

 

What camera do you use? 

I use mostly Canon gear – I have a Canon EOS 5D Mark III as main camera and Canon EOS 6D as a backup. Most of the times I bring both of my cameras to the session so I don’t have to switch the lenses during the shoot. My favorite lens is probably Canon 70-200mm 2.8 but I also use Canon 50mm 1.4, Canon 100mm Macro and Sigma 35mm. I use flash whenever needed as well.  

 

Are you insured?  

Yes, all my equipment is fully insured and I am covered by liability insurance as well. 

 

Is there an additional fee if we pay via credit card? 

Yes. The retail adjustment fee for all credit card transactions is 3% of the charged amount. 

 

Can we see unedited images? 

No. Every image I deliver is post produced with unique signature style of mine. I only show you the best images from the session and that means all the duplicates, unflattering poses and “eyes-closed" images will be deleted.  

 

What do you mean by “touching up” the photos? 

“Touching up” means basic editing and involves color correction, exposure adjustment, selective black and white processing, clarity adjustments, tone-mapping, and other corrections.

What are your prices and packages?

I would love to discuss rates with you!  My wedding packages start at $1890. The best way to view at my pricing is by clicking on the CONTACT ME button and emailing me some details about your plans!  If I am available on your date, I would be more than happy to email you my rates for your location, as well as chat about putting together a custom package that suits exactly what your wedding requires.

 

I’m working on a budget, can I get a discount?

My packages have been carefully curated and priced according to their value, so the short answer is "No". However, no two weddings are alike and as such, I would love to create a custom package that suits exactly what you need!

Why do I have to provide a meal to you and your 2nd photographer at my wedding?

Basically, myself and my staff are able to work on a higher level for longer if we've been fed!  We require meals to be provided for any coverage over five hours.  If you choose not to provide a meal for us, we will take a one hour break at some point during your reception to have a meal.

 

What happens if we go over the contracted amount of time?

I understand that not everything goes as planned during a wedding. I never pack up before the contracted time; and moreover I’m not leaving on the dot when the contracted time is up. Instead, I will ask you at the end of your contracted time whether or not you would like to extend. If you would like me (and 2nd shooter) to stay, I will charge the rates specified in your contract rounded to the closest 30-minute increment.

 

If we cancel the wedding, will we receive our deposit back?

Unfortunately, no. Deposits are used to reserve your date. Once I’ve reserved your date, I do not accept new clients for your date.

 

If we change our wedding to a different date, will we be able to use our deposit towards a future date?

A: Generally no, but this is taken on a case by case basis. The reason for canceling and our availability is taken into account. Also, if rates change from your original date to your new date, the new rates will apply.

 

How many photographs will we receive? 

That depends on the package you choose when booking a wedding.  I don’t set a maximum limit of images taken during the wedding day and will take in excess of 1500 photographs; these are then edited down to usually between 500-600 (for 8 hour wedding day) of the very best images of the day and from there you will be able to pick out your favorites.

 

When will we be able to see our photographs? 

I aim to have the photographs available to view online within 4 weeks so they are ready to be viewed when you return from your honeymoon.

 

How do we reserve our wedding date?

Just EMAIL ME to let me know your date so I can check my availability.  Once we select the best package for you, I will send you a contract to sign and instructions on how to pay the retainer. I can’t hold any date for either a portrait or a wedding without both the retainer and contract completed.  I can't wait to work with you!
