9 things NOT to do before your senior photoshoot! {Jacksonville and St. Augustine senior photographer}

Senior photoshoots are a significant milestone, and it's essential to prepare adequately to ensure a successful experience. Here are 9 things you should NOT do before your senior or college graduate session!

1. Avoid Procrastination! Don't leave everything to the last minute. Plan your outfits, props, and location in advance to reduce stress and ensure you have everything you need.

2. Ignoring Communication! Make sure to communicate with your photographer before the shoot. Discuss your vision, style preferences, and any specific ideas you may have. Clear communication will help both of us to be on the same page.

3. Overlooking Wardrobe Choices - Outfits will make or brake your senior session! It’s very important to have a good variety of outfits like dresses, pants or jeans, tops, skirts. For colder weather also have weathers, jackets and cardigans ready to go!

4. Skipping Hair and Makeup Planning! If you plan to get your hair and makeup done, schedule appointments well in advance. Avoid experimenting with new hairstyles or makeup looks right before the photoshoot.

5. Ignoring your nails! This one is many times overlooked! We will be taking lots of closeup images and your hands will be in many of them so perfect manicure is essential! Also - if it’s warm and your toes will be out - please make sure your pedicure looking good as well.

6. Neglecting to Coordinate Accessories! If you plan to wear accessories, make sure they complement your outfits and overall look. Avoid excessive accessories that might distract from your personality. I will also be more than happy to help you with this (normally we will schedule a call to go over all the outfits and accessories just to make sure we have it all coordinated!)

7. Ignoring Proper Nutrition and Hydration! You might not even think about it but Florida heat will take all your energy! Pleas make sure you're well-nourished and hydrated before the photoshoot. This will help you feel energized and look & feel your best!

8. Skipping a Good Night's Sleep! A good night's sleep is crucial for a fresh and vibrant appearance. Aim for at least 8 hours of sleep the night before your photoshoot.

9. Not Bringing Essential Items! Make sure you pack a bag with everything the day before your photoshoot, including shoes, extra outfits, accessories, water & snacks and any other essentials. Double-check this list before leaving for the shoot.

Remember, the goal of senior photos is to capture your unique personality and style during this exciting time in your life. Being well-prepared and avoiding these pitfalls will help you make the most of your senior photoshoot.
